I usually get very upset at ignorant people, but l don’t anymore. Well, not as upset as I used to be. Lately, I just pity them for their lack of understanding and compassion, as well as their inability to NOT judge people who are enduring agony they could never understand.

To these people, I say, “be gone now and have a good life”. I will not tolerate fools, and you shouldn’t either.

I’ve heard many stupid comments of late about mental illnesses / people with mental illnesses, and I’ve come to a point where there’s no reason in causing myself the heartache of explaining something that is very real to these people.

They can go ahead and be stupid somewhere else. Like a volcano pit.

I see people fighting internal battles on a regular basis, and not to mention the misconceptions of mental illnesses. No one is asking for sympathy or handouts, however I don’t think it’s too much to expect some level of understanding, consideration, and respect.

On this note, if you’re angry at someone who has mental illness or suicide attempt history, it’s never okay to tell them to “go ahead and kill yourself”, especially if you claim to love them, because that hurts a lot, and if they actually do it, you’re the one who’s going to feel the guilt.

Think about that.

If you’re battling with a mental illness, remember this:

You wake up every morning to fight the same demons that left you so tired the night before, and that, my love, is BRAVERY.
